Happy Rock Farm Animal Rescue was founded in 2025 in Dickinson, North Dakota, with a simple belief: every farm animal deserves to feel safe and cared for.
What began at Happy Rock Farm as a love for animals and a desire to share the joy they bring with our community grew into something much bigger. We saw a need for a place where farm animals that had been neglected, abandoned, abused, or surrendered could be given another chance.
That vision became Happy Rock Farm Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, rabbits, and other farm animals in need.
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome farm animals in need while providing education that encourages responsible animal care, compassion, and respect for all animals.
Some animals may come to us needing medical attention, proper nutrition, training, or simply time to learn that people can be trusted again. Our goal is to meet each animal where they are, provide the care they need, and give them the opportunity for a safe and happy future.
Whenever possible, we work toward finding loving, appropriate homes for animals that are ready for adoption. For animals with special circumstances or needs, Happy Rock may become their safe place for as long as they need us.
More Than a Rescue
Education and community involvement are an important part of our mission. Through farm visits, events, educational opportunities, and hands-on experiences, we hope to help people better understand farm animals and the responsibility that comes with caring for them.
We also believe rescued animals have an incredible ability to bring people together. They make us laugh, teach us patience, and remind us how much a little kindness can change a life.
Every animal that arrives at Happy Rock has a story.
